Jean White E. Jones

, Esquire

Prior to entering the practice of law, Jean, a registered nurse, was Assistant Director of Nursing at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City; Director of Nursing at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, Pa.; and President/ Chief Operating officer at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Pa. Jean received her Masters degree in Science from Hunter College and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University.

Jean received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law in 1989. Upon graduation, Jean joined the law firm of Riley Law associates, P.C., in Paoli, Pa. She opened her own law firm in 1991 and formed Butera and Jones in 1998.

Jean is licensed to practice law in PA, NJ and the US District Court for the Eastern District of PA. She is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Delaware County Bar Associations. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.


John C. Butera

, Esquire

John attended the University of Pennsylvania and after serving in the U.S. Army, he graduated from Dickinson College. John received his Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University.

Prior to forming Butera and Jones in 1998, John was a Senior Partner in the law firm of Butera, Beausang, Cohen and Brennan.

John has appeared in Federal and State courts litigating serious personal injury and commercial cases for more than 40 years. John also is an experienced Arbitrator/Mediator(including UM/UIM cases).

John was born and reared in Norristown, PA. He has been a long time member of the Montgomery Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.

 


Patricia Q. Imbesi

, Esquire

Pat was admitted to the Bar in 1975. She focuses her practice on Orphan's Court matters, with an emphasis on guardianships and estate work.

In 1972, Pat graduated, magna cum laude, from Villanova University with a B.A. degree in History. She received her Juris Doctor from Villanova in 1975. Upon graduation,she worked in the legal department of an international insurance corporation. Before joining Butera and Jones in 1998, she worked as a general practitioner in Philadelphia and surrounding counties. While being an active member of various charitable organizations, she served as Pres. of Women’s Board of St. Francis Country House. There is virtually no issue in Orphans’ Court practice that Pat has not experienced.

Patricia is liscensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has been admitted practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of PA. She maintains membership in the Philadelphia Bar association.


Jonathan Peterson

, Esquire

Jonathan engages in a general civil practice and represents clients with both litigation and transactional concerns. With regard to litigation, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of civil litigation matters both in court and before arbitrators. His practice covers a wide range of commercial litigation and counseling and Orphan’s Court litigation. In Orphan’s Court disputes he has represented both petitioners and respondents. Mr. Peterson also practices employment law and has represented employers and employees in litigation involving wrongful termination claims and enforcement of restrictive covenants. His clients range from large national businesses to regional and local businesses to sole proprietorships and individuals. In addition he has developed extensive experience assisting his clients with their transactional and appellate needs including, but not limited to appellate briefing and oral argument, estate planning, business succession planning and the sale of real estate and businesses.

Mr. Peterson has advocated before judges in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery, Chester, Bucks, Northampton and Pike counties in addition to the Pennsylvania Superior Court and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He has also been before the Orphan’s Courts of Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery, Northampton and Chester counties. In the federal court system, he is admitted in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania as well as the Third and Seventh Circuit courts of appeals.

Jonathan is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and received his law degree with honors from Tulane University in New Orleans. He developed his litigation skills working in some of the Philadelphia region’s premier litigation departments before joining Butera & Jones.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Peterson has been active in the community as a board member of the Valley Forge Historical Society (the precursor to the National Center for the American Revolution), the Leadership Counsel for the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Wayne Business Association.

Jonathan lives in Narberth with his wife and two sons. When he’s not in the office or representing clients in court, his weekends are spent coaching his boys in baseball, soccer and lacrosse.
